Why aren’t bibles placed in the same section as Homer’s epics in bookstores?

Shouldn't the bible be placed in the fiction section? Why aren't they?

Actually, it was. Keep it up and you just may receive the best answer, unless someone else gives an even better explanation.
Although Homer's epics may be found in bookstores, on that technical a basis, in store such as Barnes and Noble, I often find it in the Poetry/Literature/Fiction sections, almost never history.
