Field, could, Making, Just, Breaking, near, Instead, basin., drain, holes, pond, tiles


Question by summer: My field tiles are breaking & making holes in the field near drain basin. Could I just dig a pond instead?

I like ponds and creating a pond instead of repairing field tile seems like a great idea to me. This is in Marshall County, Indiana. Any suggestions?

Yes can simply dig a pond and hold water, even if you do not have a clay bottom. Simply apply a product called bentonite to the pond and it will seal the entire bottom. Reclamation jobs use it all for the time in contructing wildlife ponds.
